TX15: Flight Vehicle Systems

Taxonomy Category Summary

This taxonomy category is divided into two areas: aerosciences and flight mechanics. Aeroscience is the prediction of vehicle and components atmospheric flight performance and flow qualities to enable robust and efficient flight vehicle development. This covers technology areas such as aerodynamics, aerothermodynamics, aeroelasticity, aeroacoustics, propulsion flow path and interactions, advanced atmospheric flight vehicles, computational fluid dynamics technology, and ground flight test technology. Flight mechanics provides the analysis, prediction, measurement, and test of vehicle dynamics, trajectories, mechanics, and performance throughout the project life cycle as well as the modeling and simulation of the flight.
