MEETINGS

RSI members, associates, and the general public are welcomed several times a year at Rice Space Institute open meetings. 

Weather permitting, RSI also sponsors several public viewing nights at the Rice University Campus Observatory.  Check out the Rice Observatory page for more information and upcoming viewing opportunities. Regular viewing Open houses are generally on a weekend night near the first quarter moon. The dates for these are posted at the website at least two weeks in advance. When special astronomical events occur additional public viewing sessions may be scheduled. The times for open houses depend on local sunset times, but generally start about an hour after sunset and go on for 2-3 hours thereafter.
