9 June 2018: “Cosmic Beginnings” at UH Moores Opera House

Other-worldly masterpieces: “Cosmic Beginnings” at the Immanuel and Helen Olshan TEXAS MUSIC FESTIVAL

Saturday, June 9, 7:30 p.m.

The University of Houston Moores Opera House

3333 Cullen Blvd, Houston, TX 77004

Exit #16 off Cullen Boulevard. There will be space-themed art cars in front of the Moores Opera House before the concert. Parking is free.

The Immanuel and Helen Olshan TEXAS MUSIC FESTIVAL (TMF) international music residency will launch its 2018 TMF Orchestra Series with “Cosmic Beginnings,” pairing two other-worldly masterpieces, Strauss: Also sprach Zarathustra, Op. 30 (think of its prominent use in Stanley Kubrick’s classic, “2001: A Space Odyssey,” which debuted 50 years ago in 1968) and Holst: The Planets, Op 32, a seven-movement work that publicly premiered 100 years ago this year.

As friends of RSI and colleagues in space education and industry, you should use the PROMO CODE: TMFINSPACE for $10 off the general admission price.  Tickets will be $15 vs. $25.
